The commander path
Pass the hobby forward.
Commanders help welcome new players, teach games, set up tables, and make sure nobody has to figure out the hobby alone.
We’re looking for people with patience, passion, and a love of tabletop games. Together, we can break down barriers, challenge tired stereotypes about the hobby, and welcome new players with open arms.
You do not need encyclopedic rules knowledge or a tournament record. A great Commander can explain a choice without taking over, celebrate curiosity, recover gracefully when a rule is unclear, and make the person across the table feel like they belong.
Prepare
Help arrange welcoming tables, reference sheets, terrain, miniatures, and the supplies a first game needs.
Teach
Guide the rules at the players’ pace, invite questions, and keep the focus on a good shared experience.
Connect
Help new players find their next game and become familiar faces in the EAV tabletop community.
